THE WOMEN BEHIND THE SKITS
Everest Designs works with Himalayan Knitwear, a Nepalese womens knitting cooperative, to produce styles and craftsmanship that last a lifetime. The cooperative is made up of almost 150 women and utilizes fair trade, small scale cottage manufacturing methods which help to support local rural communities in the Kathmandu valley of Nepal.
FOUNDER
Everest Designs founder Choti Skousen is committed to the quality products she delivers to her customers, but her dedication goes well beyond that, to include the well-being and betterment of the women who craft Everest Designs skirts. Choti was born and raised in the mountains of Nepal with her Sherpa family. Her company is woven together with the Nepalese communities like the wool clothing they produce.
