outdoor DIVAS is the only women's ski shop in the country, and possibly the world.

Currently located in Vail, Colorado, the team at outdoor DIVAS aims to guide women through a gear selection process that will make them ski more confidently, regardless of their skier ability.

In the fall of 2002 Kim Walker and  Michael Callas, launched outdoor DIVAS on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, CO.  outdoorDIVAS.com was launched in 2005, and in 2006, the second brick and mortar store opened in the Cherry Creek North shopping district in Denver. In November of 2015 outdoor DIVAS went back to its roots and opened the Women's Ski Center in Vail, Colorado with managing partner,  Lauren Williams at the helm.  As the first women specific outdoor and snow sports shop in the country, outdoor DIVAS has become the premiere shopping destination for active women.   In addition to offering the best women specific technical gear and apparel, outdoor DIVAS strives to educate women through unique events.  

Kim Walker  has made her passion for pursuing an active and healthy lifestyle into a career working everyday to share this enthusiasm with as many women as possible. She has 25 years of experience in retailing.  Her extensive background spans industries from home furnishings and interior design to fashion. Following her graduation from the College of Wooster with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Walker headed west to pursue her love of skiing and the mountains.  While living and working in Vail, Walker was continually frustrated due to the lack of options for women specific ski gear.   She felt there was a genuine need for a place women could go to shop without feeling intimidated.  Walker combined her passion for retail with her enthusiasm for adventure sports to launch outdoor DIVAS.  

As a recognized authority on apparel and gear designed for women, Walker is regularly called upon to contribute to the product design processes of notable manufacturers in the outdoor and ski industries.  Since opening outdoor DIVAS, Walker has spoken at numerous industry functions including the Outdoor Industry Rendezvous and the Ski Industry Association of America annual summit.  She was also recognized in the top 40 under 40 by SBG Magazine, and was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Outdoor Industry Association. In 2005 and 2006 Kim was employed by Time Warner Media as a ski tester for Ski Magazine’s 2005 and 2006 Annual Women’s Ski Review.  

In her free time, Kim loves to play outside.  Her mountaineering endeavors have brought her to the summit of more than half of Colorado’s fifty-four 14,000 foot peaks. She is a multiple marathoner, expert skier, and enthusiastic mountain biker. She is mother to son, Nykolas, and splits her time between Boulder and Vail, Colorado.
